No. 2 Volleyball Sweeps TLU, Remains Undefeated in SCAC Play

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – No. 2 Trinity University Volleyball finished up another undefeated weekend in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play Saturday afternoon with a sweep of Texas Lutheran University (25-20, 25-16, 25-23), hosted by Colorado College.

The Tigers (16-2, 8-0 SCAC) collected the third career double-double from first-year outside hitter Reagan Whatley (The Woodlands, Texas / The Woodlands) with a team-high 10 kills on a .364 hitting percentage and 11 digs.

Trinity hit .273 for the match thanks to a well-executed direction of the attack from senior setter Marisa Amarino (Calabasas, Calif. / Notre Dame), who posted 27 assists in her three-rotation duty.

Senior rightside Sara Flynn (Seattle, Wash. / Roosevelt) and junior middle blocker Maddie Fate (New York, N.Y. / Croton on Hudson) continued the defensive presence at the net, each tallying five blocks in the day's first match.

No. 2 Trinity Volleyball returns to San Antonio Friday, October 14 to open the Trinity Invitational, which will feature the first two of seven consecutive matches in Calgaard Gym for the Tigers.
