#17 Trinity Women's Soccer Suffers 3-1 Road Loss to Cal Lutheran

Thousand Oaks, California – Trinity's 17th-ranked women's soccer team suffered a tough 3-1 defeat on the road against California Lutheran University on Sunday afternoon.



The Tigers fell behind almost immediately, as Cal Lutheran scored in the first minute of the game, and then added a second score less than three minutes later to take a 2-0 lead.

CeCe Hendricks got off the first shot of the game for Trinity in the 25th minute, but she made it count for a goal to cut the lead in half.

The Tigers had three corners in the opening period, but the goal wound up as the only shot of the half.

At the 59:00 mark of the second half, the Regals knocked in an insurance goal to make it a 3-1 lead for the home team.

Trinity had three more shots in the second half, including two on-target attempts, but they were not able to score again to have a chance at the end.



Trinity had its seven-game winning streak snapped in the loss, falling to 12-3-0 overall this season. Cal Lutheran upped its record to 10-2-3 after winning for the seventh time in the last eight games.

The Tigers are now 1-2 all-time against the Regals, though this is the first meeting between the two schools since 2001.

Sunday's game marks the most goals allowed by Trinity this season, as well as the most allowed in a regular season game by the Tigers since 2012.

CeCe Hendricks scored her second goal of the season in the game, becoming one of 13 different Tiger players with two ore more goals this year.



The Tigers return home for the final home stand of the regular season, beginning with a Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference game against the University of Dallas (TX) at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, November 1.
