#17 Women's Soccer Blanks Johnson & Wales

Denver, Colorado – The 17th-ranked Tiger women's soccer team generated a 3-0 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference shutout on the road against Johnson & Wales (CO) University on Friday evening.



Trinity held a 15-4 advantage in shots in the game, as well as a 6-2 edge in corner kicks in the game; however, it was Johnson & Wales that had the first scoring chance.

The Wildcats got a shot after a corner in the fifth minute of play, but the attempt missed wide left.

The first shot of the night for the Tigers came in the 10th minute, as Kaity Ward buried a cross from Molly Sheridan to make it a 1-0 game.

Ward then played the role of helper on the next goal, crossing the ball from the right side for Jessica Young. That came in the 21st minute and Young's goal gave Trinity a 2-0 lead after the opening period.

Emma Everts converted a free kick in the 80th minute into the final score of the night, assisted by Kristen Canepa.



The Tigers upped their season record to 12-2-0 overall and remained undefeated at 6-0-0 in conference play. Johnson & Wales dropped to 4-12-0 overall and 2-5-0 in the SCAC.

Kaity Ward tied for the team lead with her sixth goal of the season, as well as tying four other players for the team lead with her second game-winner of the season. She also moved into a tie for second with her fifth assist of the year.

Molly Sheridan contributed her fourth assist of the season on Ward's game-winner, while Kristen Canepa produced her first of the year.

Emma Everts fired in her third goal of the campaign, while defender Jessica Young netted her second.



Trinity will continue west to take on California Lutheran University on Sunday, October 27, at 11:00 a.m. (PT).
