San Antonio - Trinity's women's soccer team opened up a weekend of Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference games with a 7-0 win over Austin College on Friday night.
The Tigers improved to 9-1-2 on the season, sweeping the regular season series against the 'Roos. Trinity also defeated Austin College 7-0 in Sherman, Texas, on September 30.
Maggie Olvera led Trinity with two goals in the game, scoring the final goals of the game for the Tigers. Emily Jorgens also scored four points for the Tigers, scoring a first-half goal, and adding assists in each period.
Kimberly Polasek opened the scoring on an assist from Lauren Henderson, netting the eventual game-winner in the eighth minute of play. Shelby Guenthardt quickly made it 2-0 Tigers just over three minutes later, assisted by Jennifer White.
Jorgens and Stephanie Segovia made it 4-0 Tigers by the half, scoring in a span of just 2:06 midway through the period.
Lindsay Euers opened the second half with a goal in the 52nd minute, followed by the two scores by Olvera.
Goalkeepers Katie Garrett and Devan Osegueda combined for the shutout, with each playing one half. Osegueda recorded four saves to preserve the shutout for the Tigers.
Trinity concludes its conference weekend with a game against Centenary College on Sunday afternoon.
