This is the third time that Trinity has swept both awards, as well as the second time that Pitts and Lambeth have taken the doubles honor. Lambeth is now a four-time winner in singles this season.
This past week the 11th-ranked Tigers went 1-1 this past week as they fell 6-3 to #20 Gustavus Adolphus (MN) College and defeated #13 Pomona-Pitzer (CA) Colleges 5-4.
Ranked 12th in the Region, Lambeth expanded his winning streak to nine straight matches after going undefeated in singles play this past week. He first earned a straight-set win at line two over 24th-ranked player from Gustavus Adolphus before moving up to line one singles where he defeated 10th-ranked player in the region from Pomona in a three set tiebreaker. Lambeth now holds a 12-6 record in singles competition.
Lambeth continued his success as he joined Pitts on the doubles court where the duo was able to go undefeated as well. The second-ranked team in the region first came out on top in a close 8-7 (7-5) over their third-ranked opponents from Gustavus before solidly defeated the seventh-ranked competitors from Pomona. Lambeth and Pitts now sit at 15-3 on the season.
The Tigers conclude their regular-season home schedule with two matches on Saturday, April 13. First up is Schreiner (TX) University at 8:00 a.m., followed by a match with Texas Lutheran University at 11:30 a.m.
