Four Tiger Men's Soccer Player Selected for Academic All-District Team

GREENWOOD, Ind. – The Trinity men's soccer team had four players selected to the Acacdemic All-District Team, as announced by College Sports Communicators on Tuesday.

The Tigers named to the team were seniors Pieter Blank (The Hague, The Netherlands / Dalton Voorburg) and Juan Carlos Vidales (Laredo, Texas / IMG Academy), and juniors Jack Eubank (Raleigh, N.C. / Needham Broughton) and Jesus Veloz (Dallas, Texas / Lone Star). Trinity finished the season with a 9-5-3 overall record that included a 6-1-1 mark in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play. The Tigers were the runner-up in the SCAC Tournament.

Blank was a Second Team All-SCAC selection this season who also earned Honorable Mention All-SCAC status in 2020-21. He also earned a spot on the SCAC Academic Honor Roll in 2020-21 and 2021, as well as recognition on the Trinity Dean's List in Spring 2021. Blank started 14 of his 17 games played this season, tallying a goal and an assist, and helping the Tiger defense to six shutouts.

Vidales earned Honorable Mention All-SCAC status in 2021, as well as being a three-time Trinity Dean's List honoree – including both semesters in 2021-22. He is also a three-time SCAC Academic Honor Roll player who recorded 23 saves in nearly 900 minutes in goal for the Tigers. He started nine of the 11 games he played, recording three shutouts.

Eubank joined with Blank on Trinity's defensive back line that notched six clean sheets on the year. Eubank earned All-SCAC Honorable Mention status in the abbreviated Spring 2021 season and again last year in Fall 2021. He was tied for third on the team with five assists this year and is a two-time SCAC Academic Honor Roll recipient who also earned Trinity Dean's List honors in each semester of the 2021-22 school year.

Veloz is also a two-time member of the SCAC Academic Honor Roll who earned Trinity Dean's List recognition in both the Spring 2021 and Fall 2021 semesters. A third member of Trinity's defensive back line to earn the Academic All-District award this year, Veloz also recorded one goal and five assists this season for Trinity.

Trinity is led by Head Coach Paul McGinlay, who recently completed his 32nd season at the helm of the Tiger men's soccer program. Coach McGinlay is one of the winningest coaches in Division III history, having amassed 540 career victories and a winning percentage of more than 83%.
