The Rundown

The Roos made a few runs at the goal to start the match but they were unable to get a shot off. Senior Chen Adjei (Euless, TX / Trinity) took the first shot of the afternoon but it was off target. Senior Pieter Blank (The Hague, Netherlands / Dalton Voorburg) later headed a ball in toward the goal but the AC keeper came up with the save. Trinity took eight shots as an offense before the Roos were able to take their first attempt.

Vidales made his first save of the day in the 36th minute of the match. The Tiger offense continued to attack but did not find success until Somerville found the net for his fifth goal of the weekend. With just under a minute to play, Blank sent in a long pass to Somerville who struck a ball from 20 yards out to make the score 1-0 heading into the half.

Just three minutes into the second half, Trinity took a corner but came away empty. A few moments later, Austin College was awarded a corner kick but the Tigers defended it well. The Roos were much more aggressive in the second half and took three shots before Trinity took a shot and scored. Cain found Burns for the Tiger's goal of the day.

In the 67th minute, Trinity made a stop and Cain found himself in a one-on-one counter-attack. The sophomore made a move and found the back of the net for his first goal of the season. After taking a 3-0 lead, the Tigers continued to attack and put pressure on the Austin College defense. In the 80th minute, the Roos scored a goal to cut into the deficit. The Tiger defense hunkered down to protect their lead for the final 10 minutes of the match. With just under a minute left to play, Trinity was fouled in the penalty box but the Tigers missed the kick to ultimately keep the score 3-1.
