Trinity Baseball Ranked Sixth in National Poll

San Antonio - The Trinity baseball team has been ranked sixth in the NCAA Division III by the latest Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Poll.

The Tigers went 3-2 last week after picking up a win against the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor (TX) and two out of three games aginst Southwestern (TX) University. The Tigers lost to NAIA member Our Lady of the Lake (TX) University. Prior to Tuesday's game against Mary Hardin-Baylor, the Tigers are sporting a 26-9 overall record.

Trinity sits in third place nationally in hits and is just 12 behind leader. The Tigers are tied for fourth in double plays, tied for fifth in home runs, and eigth in both runs and base on balls.

Corey Cater is tied for seventh in pitching appearances and ranks amoung the top 15 in victories. Jake Martin also ranks in the top 15 in both runs and hits.

Following Tuesday's game, the Tigers will conclude their regular-season home schedule with a three-game SCAC series against Schreiner (TX) University Thursday through Saturday.
